Ivy Oxford's history begins in the early Fifties, the years of the American dream: the largest clothing industries in Italy and Europe were getting started.

Luigi Cappio's family also owned a textile company. The future founder of Ivy Oxford, with the support of his inheritance, completed his studies and began a careful examination of the most innovative materials and trends in the sector. His goal was to put his skills to work in a market that was as open and dynamic as ever.

The result was  a small company that produced nylon rain gear: the product's practicality and uniqueness made it an immediate successo.

Luigi Cappio, however, was a tireless look-hunter: interested in discovering alternative products to introduce to the European market, he continued to travel and gather material, keeping a close watch on overseas trends. When he discovered sportswear he immediately grasped its enormous potential and versatility.
